本OVA总集约50分钟，国内网民将其拆分为两话，各约25分钟。 故事讲述了由于雏见泽症候群病原体的发现，自卫队的隔离，被封锁的雏见泽村。实际上是雏见泽症候群（外界称士兵脑寄生病毒）从雏见泽扩散到全世界的开端！据传将是《寒蝉鸣泣之时》迎来动画版真正大结局的前兆。根据官网最新消息，在[拡]之后还有[顶]、[问]、[选]，但这三项究竟代表着什么，是否为[拡]后续动漫？若是后续动漫，那么是以TV版或是OVA版还是剧场版？一切还有待考据。。A rookie flyer, Ens.
