乔书婷和宋远程本是一对恩爱的夫妻，两人有一个儿子小宝。可多年前宋远程的战友高松为了救宋远程而受伤，失去了生育能力。为了报恩，宋远程擅自将儿子小宝送给了高松，可没了小宝的乔书婷却疯了，从此踏上了寻子之路。薇娜在高中转学上课的第一天，因说话带有浓厚的口音，受尽同学嘲笑。但有四位女孩和一名男孩站出来为她解围，后来他们成为了朋友，并组成「自由帮」。二十三年后，薇娜在医院偶遇当年的朋友克丽丝。克丽丝身患末期重症，她希望薇娜能帮她完成心愿：让「自由帮」再次聚首。于是薇娜踏上一段寻友之旅。。The series tells the story of an extended family and four young people who are drawn into the world of ska and two-tone music, which exploded from the grassroots of Coventry and Birmingham in the late 70s and early 80s, uniting black, white, and Asian youths.
