故事发生在清光绪二十六年，一日甘军巡逻队的一个小头目酒后枪杀了德国公使克林德，洋人以此为由找到了强占中国的借口。八国联军大举入侵中国，慈禧闻风仓皇西逃。李鸿章等受命与入侵者议和，签订了丧权辱国的《辛丑条约》，德国人索赔重金并要求光绪皇帝亲赴德国负罪道歉。慈禧又怒又怕，决定让一位皇族王爷替光绪皇帝赴命出使。。Nikita lives in the small town of Chegarinsk, which is right on the drug trafficking route from Central Asia to Siberia. Deciding to go to Moscow to build a musical career, Nikita wants to earn extra money. His childhood friend offers to transport a bag of drugs, and during a trip to Krasnoyarsk, Nikita miraculously does not fall into the hands of the police。
